Resources

The Boulder Creek Fire Department was established in 1892 and the Boulder Creek Fire Protection District established in 1923. The District covers 21 square miles and responded to over 800 calls for service this year. The District is governed by a 5 person Board of Directors. The District is financed by a small portion of property taxes. The District has one paid full time Fire Chief, one part time Administrative secretary and approximately 40 dedicated volunteer firefighters. The District is an “all risk” Department which responds to a wide variety of calls the same as a paid fire department. This includes, but is not limited to: structure, vehicle and wildland fires; technical rope rescues, vehicle accidents, medical emergencies and public service calls. Firefighters train on a weekly basis
